In our project, we ask ourselves how linguistic diversity and individuality are represented when visualized. We have analyzed the problem that standard language, as it is defined, does not adequately reflect how we actually speak. Each person speaks in their own individual code, such as dialect or rhythm. This is automatically categorized and associated by listeners. In doing so, no way of speaking is “better” or “worse” than another. The sum of these many linguistic characteristics creates a norm-free, all-encompassing, and above all, dynamic verbal space. With our interactive exhibition, we aim to present this dynamic understanding of language and celebrate the unique sound of each individual.
